Ulmo honey is deeply tied to the natural beauty of Chilean rainforests, where the majestic Ulmo tree flourishes. These trees, native to southern Chile, bloom with large, fragrant white flowers that are highly attractive to bees.
The pure air, unpolluted water, and fertile volcanic soil of Patagonia imbue Ulmo honey with characteristics that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.
The Ulmo tree blooms in late January offering a critical nectar source for pollinators. This results in honey that is not only delicious but also unique in composition. The floral nectar imparts the honey with subtle notes of vanilla and jasmine, and its smooth texture sets it apart from other varieties.
We have partnered with a beekeeper located in an isolated part of Los Lagos, accessible only by boat. The hives are placed there during the short Ulmo blooming season, which maximizes the Ulmo tree’s nectar concentration, making our honey extra potent and unmatched in terms of botanical original. In fact, this year’s batch is at a whopping 97% monofloral! This sets us apart from any other Ulmo honey sold in the market, as well as any other monofloral honey for that matter.
